TOPIC: The Practicality of Being One With Christ
SCRIPTURE: There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. – Ephesians 4:4-6.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In the same way, as a born again child of God, you are one Body with Christ. Therefore, what cannot be said of Christ cannot be said of you.
Sometime ago, Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa (of blessed memory) had a leg pain. He prayed for the pain to go but the pain still persisted.
Then, he told his leg, “Leg, I am going to church. When you are ready, join me there.” Having said that, he moved, and the leg also moved. Thus the affliction checked out.
This was because he understood that both he and his leg are one.
In the same way, as a born again child of God, you are one Body with Christ. Therefore, what cannot be said of Christ cannot be said of you. So, let this reality dawn on you, so results can become effortless in your life.
When I was a student in Medical School, my blood pressure was taken one day and they said that it was high. I told them that my blood pressure could never be high, and that it wasn’t my result. I had every right to believe at that time that the blood pressure was high but I rejected the result due to what I knew concerning my health from the Word of God.
Then I told the blood pressure, “If I take you again, then you will know that I don’t believe that result.” The next time I checked the blood pressure again was more than Twenty years later, when we were already pastors in Abuja.
I counsel you however that you don’t take such a drastic step if your faith is not at that level.
I was at the Airport one day and some young men and women met me and wanted me to pray on their newly acquired machine used for checking people’s blood pressure. They wanted me to bless it for them but asked that they should check my blood pressure first. I allowed them and when they checked it, it was like that of a baby.
Beloved, your faith determines your lot in life.
Remember this: In the same way, as a born again child of God, you are one Body with Christ. Therefore, what cannot be said of Christ cannot be said of you.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Believe that you and Christ are one.
2. Believe that what cannot be said of Christ cannot be said of you; therefore reject poverty, afflictions, curses and failures in life.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for making me one with Christ. I reject anything in my body that is not found in Christ, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
