TOPIC: The Tragedy of Immorality
SCRIPTURE: For a prostitute will bring you to poverty, but sleeping with another man’s wife will cost you your life. PROVERBS 6:26 (NLT)
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you commit immorality and iniquity generally, you become more vulnerable to any attack that can come through the enemy.
Seeds of Destiny Daily Devotional 17 July 2023 MESSAGE:
Some time ago, my wife, Dr (Mrs) Becky Enenche, overheard the conversations of two prostitutes at the Transcorp Hilton, a 5-star hotel in Abuja, Nigeria. One of them was telling the other person, “I do not know what happened to me the other night. There was this man I met and slept with, and since then my body has been very hot”. After listening to them, she decided to preach salvation to them. You see, it was possible that the man she slept with was an altar himself.
The truth is, when you commit immorality and iniquity genrally, you become more vulnerable to any attack that can come through the enemy. You become vulnerable in a greater dimension because of the direct attack on your faith. (Psalm 28:1).
Any little fever, the devil says, “Maybe it is that immorality or sin you committed. You had better go and check yourself. Go and check your health status.” Every little cough, the devil would say, “It may be from that immorality or sin you committed last month. You should go for a blood test”. Then fear comes, and when fear comes, attack and disaster follow.
Job 3:25 says:
For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
Beloved, do your best to ensure that by the grace of God, you are not a victim of this kind of transfer. The transaction of immorality and iniquity is beyond the flesh. Immorality joins minds to minds, and connects spirits with spirits. The point of contact is just a gateway for dual carriage access to many negative things.
Remember this: When you commit immorality and iniquity generally, you become more vulnerable to any attack that can come through the enemy.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Like Joseph, run away from every appearance of immorality and iniquity even if it means losing your “cloth’’.
2. Ask God for the grace to maintain moral uprightness.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. I ask for the grace to maintain moral uprightness, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
