TOPIC: Your Light Won’t Go Off
FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.” (Matthew 25:8)
Streams of Joy Devotional 16th January 2023 MESSAGE
It is instructive to observe that in our Focal Scripture, the true reason for the foolishness of the foolish virgins was made manifest. Just when it was time for them to meet the bridegroom, their lights went off. When destiny beckoned on them to step into a greater season, their lights went off. When they came to the brink of their new, their light was nowhere to be found. They were carriers of light, but they let their lights go off.
Friend, in 2023, your light must not go off. Don’t allow the light that you carry to go off. Don’t allow the light of your prayer altar to go off. Don’t allow the light of the glory of God upon you to go off. Don’t allow the shining light of your ministry, career, business, etc. to go off. Don’t allow the oil that helps you burn and blaze in glory to go off. Don’t allow the passage of time to cause your light that was once shining and burning, to go off.
Notice that in Zechariah 4, in the description of the temple, there was a lampstand with seven candlesticks, which were never expected to go off. These candlesticks were fed with oil from two olive trees on each side of the lampstand. The light in the temple did not go off because there was a permanent supply of oil. If your light will not go off in 2023, let your supply of oil be perpetual. Be open to receive fresh oil from God.
Any man who will be a burning and shining light must be a carrier of oil that will not burn out. Any man who will burn and blaze in glory in 2023 and beyond, must carry enough oil both for the now and for tomorrow. Any man who will be a spectacle of God’s glory and splendor must be prepared to plug into the divine, heavenly supply of oil that comes from the secret place. Any light that will not go off must be perpetually connected to fresh oil.
Don’t be counted amongst them whose lights went off when it mattered most. Don’t allow your light to go off.
Isaiah 60: 20 says: “Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.”
DECLARATION: In 2023, my light will not go off, in Jesus’ name!
