Topic: Cry Out

“And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” (Mark 10: 47)

Streams of Joy Devotional 2 July 2021 Friday Message

When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by, he began to cry out. He had issues, he needed his sight to be restored, and he didn’t pretend when Jesus showed up. He didn’t stay silent when Jesus showed up. He heard that Jesus was passing by, and he seized the moment and took advantage of Jesus’ presence. There was a multitude of people who didn’t have a miracle recorded to their name, but Bartimaeus cried out and was heard.

Friend, don’t be counted amongst the multitude that are okay with knowing that Jesus is passing by. Cry out to Jesus. Call Him into those issues of your life that need divine attention. Call Him into those issues of your life that need to change immediately. Call Jesus into those troubles in your life that have defied human solution. Call Jesus into those issues of your life that have stagnated you on the highway of life.

Some people who may have had issues preferred to just follow Jesus, but it seemed they did nothing much with their following. Bartimaeus demanded for results as he encountered Jesus, and Jesus responded and turned his situation around. If you demand for change in your situation, the same God who responded to Bartimaeus will respond to you. If you demand for a turn around, God will turn things around for you.

Never be part of those who prefer to hold on to their blindness rather than have Jesus take it away. Never be part of those who want to retain the negativities that Jesus should take away. Never be part of those who are so used to their ‘blindness’ that they wouldn’t notice that Jesus is available to take it away. Never get so used to Jesus that you forget to ask Him to take your blindness away. Don’t be silent when Jesus shows up.

Remember, all that Bartimaeus needed to do was to cry out, and Jesus did the rest. Dare to cry out; and Jesus will do the rest.

Isaiah 65: 24 says: “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

Declare With Me: I choose to cry out; no negativity will remain in my life, in Jesus’ name!
