TOPIC: Expect Herod
FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.” (Matthew 2: 3)
STREAMS OF JOY DEVOTIONAL 26 DECEMBER 2022 MESSAGE
As the wise men from the east journeyed to see the new king that had just been born, they had to deal with the matter of Herod. They were on a journey to the evidence of the star they had just seen, and there was a Herod on their way. Like we have severally observed, Herod was the head of the wicked dynasty. In the pursuit of his self-preservation, he ordered that innocent children be killed. So the wise men met wickedness on their path.
Friend, as you journey into your new season expect Herod. As you come up with plans and purposes for the future and for the year that is about to unfold, expect Herod. As you pray into the higher levels that you are expecting from God, expect Herod. As you pray for God to lift you higher than you are at the moment, expect Herod. As you break into the new doors and gates that heaven has opened to you, expect Herod.
There will be wicked men waiting for you as you rise to your next level. There will be wicked policies hanging around to halt your advancement. There will be men who will literally stand in your way to stop you from moving forward. There will be men who will give evil reports about you in order to spoil your chances. There will be men, pretending as kings, but spoiling for war against you and plotting to make a mess of your future.

The presence of Herod is not the absence of God. The presence of Herod does not mean that God will watch as the enemy defeats you. The presence of Herod does not mean that your prophecies are not real. The presence of Herod does not mean that the enemy is about to have the last laugh over your destiny. The presence of Herod does not mean that your journey will end in pain or shame. Herod does not have the final word over you.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: the same way Herod could not hinder the movement and mission of the wise men, no Herod will hinder your movement and mission.
John 16: 33 says: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
DECLARATION: No matter the ‘Herod’ on my way, my mission will not be aborted, in Jesus’ name!
