TREM Daily Devotional 20 October 2018 – Closed Doors Will Open For You

TREM Daily Devotional 20 October 2018 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo

Topic: Closed Doors Will Open For You

Scripture: “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth” – Revelation 3:7

Message: One of the things you should come to terms with as a child of God is that God loves you and is able to make all things work together for your good. The fact that a door is closed does not mean the end of the world. Who told you the door is the best that God has in store for you? When faced with a closed door, understand that God is able to open the door, but not just that, He is able to open a bigger and better door for you.

The fact that you were retrenched could be God calling your attention to the entrepreneur in you. Thank God for the job, but how about becoming an employer of labour? Do you think it is impossible? Of course not; God is able and when He opens a door, no one can shut it. This reminds me of the Children of Israel when faced with a famine, so bad that the women were eating their children and the prophet declared: “…Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel …”. It looked absolutely impossible to expect, what the “Economic Adviser said to the king “… Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be?’ That is a rational mind speaking, but you know the story, take time to read it all in 2 Kings 6 & 8 and you will see what God did.

No one can shut a door against you; don’t give the devil unnecessary credit. Does a door appear shut? Take it to the Lord and watch Him open incredible doors, just for you. If He did it for the Children of Israel under the Old Covenant, how much more you, the believer?
