TOPIC: Let Your Light And Truth Lead Me

OPENING PRAYER: Make my life oh Lord a reflection of you as I study your word.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalm 43:1-5

QUESTION FOR REFLECTION
• Q 2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Scripture Union Daily Guide 11 April 2023, Tuesday MESSAGE

The Psalmist seems to face false accusations from his adversaries. See v.1. He calls on God to vindicate him, that is, to prove him right and his opponents wrong. Have you met circumstances in life when you were falsely accused of wrongdoing? Read Matthew 5:11-12 and find out how to handle such situations as Christ taught His followers.

Read John 14:6 and John 8:12. What truths about Christ Jesus are indicated here? If God’s light and truth are to lead us (v.3), then how must we live our lives before Him? Check vs.3 and 4 and find out at least three things that will happen to us when God’s light and truth lead us.
Note that the Light and Truth of God entering into the life of the Psalmist finally resolves the difficulty of his soul which was cast down and in turmoil within him.

PRACTICE/WORD APPLICATION
What Next? Would you love to experience the exceeding joy of God (v.4)? Then, meditate on v.3 and take action.

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

HYMN: He leadeth me
1. He leadeth me, O blessèd thought!
O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

Refrain
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

2. Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, over troubled sea,
Still ’tis His hand that leadeth me.

3. Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.

4. And when my task on earth is done,
When by Thy grace the vict’ry’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
Since God through Jordan leadeth me.
