OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, I request that you help me to encounter you as I meditate on your word.

• Q 1: What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Q 3: Is there any command for me to obey?
Scripture Union Daily Guide 14th April 2023 MESSAGE
The Psalmist called on all peoples, including us, to praise God (v.1). Notice why He said this in vs.3,6,7. V.4 confirmed the positive response to his instruction. What can you learn from vs.5,6? If you have ever engaged in sincere self-emptying worship and praise to God, you will experience what the Psalmist said in v.6b.
Sometimes we find it difficult to praise God when the going is hard, but trials can offer wonderful opportunities for unexpected blessings (vs.10-12). In times of testing, it is important for the trusting Christian to note what vs.7-9 say. God purifies His children through difficult times to make them more like Him (see Hebrews 12:7-11), and their service becomes more acceptable to Him (Malachi 3:1-4). He may allow people to take advantage of us but see the blessings in vs.18-19.
What else can you learn from vs.13-17. If you are tempted to grumble and complain during trials, meditate on Psalm 119:67, 71, 75. See also Numbers 11:1.

And so? Remember to fulfil your vows to the Lord who has seen you through tough times in the passing year.

When you take me through seasons of testing, dear Lord, may I accept this training patiently.

► The 2023 SU Easter Pilgrims Retreat.
► The brethren who have been labouring in God’s Vineyard preparing for the meeting.
PRAY FOR:
► The participants that they come with prepared hearts to benefit and grow.
► Transformation and renewal of minds as the messages go on.
► The expositions, Bible studies, Seminars that they will increase the spiritual growth of the Pilgrims.
► Funds and food for the camp so the camp can run smoothly.
PRAY AGAINST:
► Distractions, confusion and things that may defile the camp.
► All forms of unpreparedness of hearts, unwise decisions, or programmes that may make brethren grumble.
