TOPIC: Pay the Price
FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.” (Matthew 25: 9)
When the foolish virgins requested that the wise ones should share their oil with them, the wise declined, and rather advised the foolish ones to go and buy from those that sell. So oil was not free of charge. There was money to be paid for the extra oil the wise ones carried. Put differently, there was a price to be paid for the extra oil. The wise ones who had extra oil paid the price ahead of time. For them to have extra oil, they paid the price.
Friend, in 2023, for that extra oil you desire, pay the price. For that new level you desire, pay the price. For that shining you desire, pay the price. For that burning you desire, pay the price. For the spiritual depth you want to attain, pay the price. Pay the price of prayer for that growth you desire. Pay the price of self-denial. Pay the price of consecration. Pay the price of commitment. Pay the price of discipline. Pay the price of focus.
The invitation to come for dinner with the bridegroom may have been open to all, but it was eventually accessed by those that paid the price for extra oil. The price that the wise virgins paid, enabled them to be part of the meeting with the bridegroom. There are realms you may never be part of until you pay the price for them. There are heights you may not attain until you pay the price of personal development.
The wise virgins may have had alternative uses for their money, but they were wise enough to pay the price for future relevance with the bridegroom. While others spent on what didn’t matter, they paid the price for what mattered most. In 2023, may it be said that you paid the price for what matters most. May it be said that you paid the price for what is important for the future. May you have courage to pay the price as others miss the mark.
Go beyond desiring a time with the Bridegroom, and start paying the price to be there with your lamp filled with oil. Pay the price to be more. Pay the price for relevance. Dare to pay the price.
Proverbs 12: 24 (TPT) says: “If you want to reign in life, don’t sit on your hands. Instead work hard at doing what’s right, for the slacker will end up working to make someone else succeed.”
DECLARATION: I choose to pay the price for greatness; my lamp will not lack oil in 2023, in Jesus’ name!
