Girl, 10, shot dead in massacre on streets of Toronto named as first photo of gunman emerges.
Julianna Kozis has been named as the second victim of the shooting spree that also claimed the life of 18-year-old trainee nurse Reese Fallon.
The girl, from Markham, Ontario, and Ms Fallon were gunned down during Hussain’s deadly rampage that left another 13 injured.
Julianna was identified hours after the first photo of the gunman circulated online.
He was found dead after a shootout with police, reportedly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti paid tribute to the victims: “This heartbreaking story speaks to the unbreakable bond between a father and his daughter and I salute the Toronto paramedics, doctors and nurses who reportedly brought them together, showing incredible compassion and kindness in her final moments.
“This senseless act of violence has shaken us and hurt us.
“We stand with the victims, the brave first responders and all the communities impacted by this tragedy.”
Hussain was previously identified in a police statement that said: “The SIU (special investigations unit) commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 29-year-old man in Toronto.
“A short time ago, after speaking with a member of the deceased’s immediate family and a family representative, the SIU was able to confirm the man’s identity.
